Albert S. Lee, a shareholder with the firm, has exclusively represented management clients in the areas of labor, employment and workers' compensation law since 1992. His clients, which range from some of the largest international companies and insurers to regional family-owned businesses, are concentrated in the manufacturing, healthcare, service and educational sectors. Reflecting the number of healthcare clients that he is proud to serve, Albert is the chair of the firm's Long Term Care Group.
Albert has an active practice which involves representing clients before government agencies and in both federal and state courts. His extensive administrative experience often takes him before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, as well as the State and Federal Workers' Compensation and Unemployment Compensation Bureaus. As for his experience in federal and state court actions, Albert has defended employers in a wide range of cases including those involving sex, age, handicap and race discrimination, employment-at-will, wrongful discharge, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and breach of contract.
In addition to the foregoing litigation-oriented work, Albert serves management clients in traditional areas of labor and employment law including the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and the provision of general advice on matters of hiring, conditions of employment, and employment termination.
Albert received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he served in a number of editorial positions on the Journal of Law and Commerce. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in computer science and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
He is a member of many associations and organizations, including the Society of Human Resource Management, the National Speakers Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, the Butler Chamber of Commerce, the Pittsburgh Human Resources Association, the Butler Human Resources Association, the Westmoreland Human Resources Association, the Cambria-Somerset Human Resources Association, the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and PANPHA - An Association of Nonprofit Senior Services.
