Barbara Doblin Tilker

BARBARA DOBLIN TILKER is a graduate of New York University and St. John's University School of Law. She has over thirty years experience in the practice of social security disability law and has served as President of the New York State Social Security Bar Association for two terms from 1990 to1994. She currently serves as Trustee. Her articles on social security disability have been published in the New York State Trial Lawyers Quarterly and the Bill of Particulars. Ms. Tilker has lectured extensively on this subject to groups for the disabled and unions. She has made presentations to the New York State Trial Lawyers Institute, Suffolk County Bar Association Academy of Law, and St. Luke’s Hospital Symposium. Mz. Tilker has lectured extensively to groups for the disabled including the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Arthritis Foundation. She has advised numerous unions regarding member entitlements and has run multiple educational workshops for physicians throughout the metropolitan area. She has been on public service radio and cable television commenting on the topic of social security disability.

Her current memberships include the New York Social Security Bar Association; the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives; the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association; the New York State Bar Association; the New York State Trial Lawyers Association; and the Legal Committee for SSD/SSI at the Sarah Jane Brain Foundation. Barbara is presently on the panel of the Legal Referral Service of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York in the practice area of social security disability.

Ms. Tilker , a senior partner in our firm, has once again been named as a Super Lawyer for the year 2012 in the area of Social Security Disability by Super Lawyers Magazine. We are very proud that Barbara has been chosen for this honor. She was also the recipient of this prestigious award in 2007 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
