Biography
Auburn Lawyer, L.L.C. is a small legal services office that caters to individual clients who have Family Law or other personal and some small business legal matters. We do not handle felony criminal matters, bankruptcy, employment law or collection matters. Mike Pratum has extensive prior experience in the areas of Family Law, Personal Injury and Misdemeanor Criminal matters, as well as cases involving alcoholism or drug addiction. His goal is to make sure each client has a clearly defined budget for their hourly billed services, so an accurate forecast can be made as to whether he can complete the desired project within that budget. Other fee arrangements such as flat fee or contingency, are limited to special cases or projects, determined by the attorney after conducting an assessment of the particular case.

Fees
- Free Consultation - Consultation by telephone & email. May include sending client a questionnaire to assist me in assessing client's needs and to help client plan a budget for their project.
- Contingent Fees - Contingent fees on auto accident personal injury claims are set between 20% and 33 1/3% for resolution prior to issuance of a case schedule on filed cases (exact rate depends on case). Fee following issuance of case schedule will be set between client and attorney in writing. Trial or arbitration will cost more. I do not handle other classes of injury claims but I can refer you to the best injury lawyers in the Northwest, for other types of personal injury issues.
- Rates, Retainers and Additional Information - Starting hourly=$200. Litigation or in court rate is higher, depending on type of case. I do handle a limited number of cases on a sliding fee scale if client qualifies based on an income and monthly living expenses screening.
