Murray L. Bristol started this firm in order to provide quality representation for individuals and small companies for serious legal problems that they have encountered. Previously, Bristol prosecuted felonies as an Assistant District Attorney for the 34th Judicial District Attorney's office. During his time as an Assistant District Attorney, he argued more than 100 hearings before the Court and tried over 40 criminal trials resulting in 17 life sentences.
After leaving the District Attorney's Office, Bristol worked for a prominent law firm with offices in Dallas and Tulsa. One of the former partners of this firm became Governor of Oklahoma. While an attorney for this firm, Bristol litigated all types of cases from simple contract disputes to serious injury and death cases involving multi-state liability against national corporations. During this time frame, Bristol further developed his litigation and trial skills and learned what is necessary to prevail in the sometimes political and powerful judicial system.
Many of Bristol's high profile cases have been followed by local and national news medias such as the USA Today, Sport's Illustrated, The Dallas Morning News, and the El Paso Times. Bristol has further been interviewed about his cases by ABC News with Peter Jennings, Dateline NBC and The Wall Street Journal.
Bristol is licensed to practice in all State Courts in Texas and Oklahoma, as well as in the United States District Courts in the Northern and Western Districts of Texas and the Eastern, Northern, and Western Districts of Oklahoma.
Bristol earned a bachelor of business administration degree in finance and entrepreneurship from Baylor University where he was honored by being named to the Dean's List. He received his juris doctorate from The University of Tulsa College of Law where he was a member of the Energy Law Journal, Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity, and was listed on the Dean's Honor Roll. He also attended Southern Methodist University School of Law and studied British Constitutional and European Economic Community Law at The University of Oxford, Queen's College in England.
Bristol is very involved in the legal community and is currently a member of the Travis County Bar Association, Dallas County Bar Association, North Dallas Bar Association (Director: 1999-2000), State Bar of Texas, Oklahoma Bar Association, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and Association of Trial Lawyers of America. When Bristol lived in Oklahoma, he was a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association, Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association and a Charter member of the Tulsa County Criminal Defense Association. Bristol further donates his legal time to represent indigent families on a pro bono basis through the Dallas Volunteer Attorneys Program.
Bristol primarily practices in the areas of personal injury, auto and truck accidents, nursing home negligence, wrongful death, criminal defense, fraud, breach of contract, and products liability with an emphasis on trial law.
