Jim Power joined the firm in 2006. He is a litigator and practices in the areas of insurance defense, business litigation, employment, and products liability.
While in law school Jim served as a managing editor of the George Washington Law Review and wrote The D.C. Circuit, RCRA, and Migration of Hazardous Waste: No Does Not Mean No, 59 Geo. Wash. L. Rev. 1145 (1991).
Following law school, Jim clerked for the Honorable John C. Godbold of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and practiced as a litigation associate in the Atlanta office of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi LLP.
He is a member of the State Bar of South Dakota, the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the State of South Dakota and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Jim is currently serving on the SD State Bar Judicial-Bar Liason Committee.
Jim's non-legal experience includes serving as the pastor of adult ministry at Constance Free Church in Andover, Minnesota.
