        James ‘Jim’ Avery represented my brother in a major premises liability case whereby my brother suffered a severe heat stroke and subsequent global brain damage during the course of an indoor basketball game in Colorado in May 2002. The gym was not air conditioned or even adequately ventilated, nor were any staff on hand appropriately trained to recognise the seriousness of the emergency.Despite the protracted and at times frustrating nature of litigation, rest assured James Avery and his team are consummate professionals and explain things in a deliberate and patient manner. He was both timely and informative in explaining details of the case and at no time did it appear to be an imposition to elaborate further on any matter that I did not understand. Jim shows genuine empathy for his clients and legitimately cares for their well being. With regards to my brother’s case he was able to prove both causation and damages, which I can say with confidence was beyond our expectations.I would not hesitate to recommend James Avery for representation in any liability case.         I am so thankful to have found Mr.Avery in a much needed time of crisis. In my case I had retained another well advertised on T.V. attorney office ( if you live in CO I guarantee you have seen these commercials) that was suppose to be representing me, after 4 years of no results and no help, and pushed to settle for a pitiful settlement from an insurance company I decided I had no choice but to end up in trial. It was so awful I had nothing to lose at that point after years of suffering. I was constantly in and out of the hospital, bedridden and had a brain injury. The prior office did nothing to assist or help me and were just hoping to make a quick buck off my pain and suffering. With a few weeks to trial ( after years of having my case) I was told they were not prepared and they would try to postpone. I was furious, disappointed and devastated. I struggled for years and put faith in the wrong place. I started frantically calling attorneys for help and James Avery was there from the first call. He explained my options, the hurdles we faced and never hesitated to be helpful even without knowing what possible outcome we could have. He was reliable, responsive, polite and never backed down for me. I was fortunate enough to be able to get out of the previous representation I had and he was able to represent me at trial. The hurdles we faced were barriers from the previous attorney not doing anything for my case. No specialist and no work done at all. Mr. Avery was able to pull my case out of despair and help me get what was well deserved even though previously I was told I was only worth 1/12th of what my verdict was. He was resourceful, competent and unwavering in trial and throughout the process. He was able to explain things to me throughout the process, helped me with much needed resources outside of trial also. I knew I had found something very special in a world I never wanted to have to navigate. His name is very well respected and if you choose to retain him those you are fighting know they have a true opponent and legitimate problem to solve. I cannot thank James enough for what he did for me and my children in a time of crisis. I know is always honest and will work for the best possible solution for his clients. I don’t know anyone who ever wants to have to go through the court process but when you have no choice you want someone who is n more worried about their clients than their commercial.
