      Biography

Nat P. Ozmon was a founder of Anesi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen, Ltd. He was ranked first in his class when he graduated from Northwestern School of Law. Throughout the legal profession he was recognized as a leader in personal injury law working tirelessly to protect injured victims. His foresight and innovative approaches to his clients' cases has resulted in many groundbreaking precedents in this field.

Nat was a pioneer in the laws that provide protection to injured construction workers. As the firm grew, it took pride in the thousands of construction workers who were successfully helped over the years. The workman-like approach to legal representation developed generations of outstanding attorneys and this translated into continuity at the Anesi, Ozmon firm. That meant that many of the present attorneys have now spent their entire careers with the firm.

Nat was a leader of the Bar and served on the managing boards of the American Association for Justice, the Chicago Bar Association and the Society of Trial Lawyers. He was a past president of The Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, certified by the American Board of Trial Advocates, a fellow and founder of the Roscoe Pound Foundation, the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice and the Institute for Injury Reduction.

For most of his career, Nat was a teacher of law. For over 50 years he lectured and contributed many articles to legal publications and was a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, the Court Practice Institute, the Illinois College of Advocacy and an adjunct professor at the Loyola School of Law where he taught trial advocacy. Many of his students are now prominent practicing members of the trial and appellate Bar, including several members of this firm.

Nat received numerous honors for his contributions, including:

The Association of Trial Lawyers of America for protecting citizens from defective productsThe Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education for extraordinary contributions to continuing legal education The Circuit Court of Cook County for contributions toward case management problems Harvard Law School's study of Naife and Smith where he has been listed in The Best Lawyers in AmericaThe Illinois Trial Lawyers Association's Leonard Ring Lifetime Achievement Award for commitment to victims' rights and trial by juryAmerican ORT Foundation Jurisprudence Award for a lifetime of distinguished service to the legal professionThe prestigious 2003 Laureate status in the Academy of Illinois Lawyers for his legendary success as a civil litigator Leading Illinois Attorneys Guide to Leading American Attorneys Illinois Super Lawyers

"Since loyalty to your client's interest is always foremost, then every decision or other consideration that is made in the day-to-day practice of law must protect and further your client's interests---always superseding any other interest that many be involved, including your own."
