Patrick Toner manages defense litigation of cases involving medical malpractice and casualty defense. Patrick has engaged in virtually all aspects of medical malpractice defense litigation. He has drafted and orally argued appeals before the New York State Appellate Courts and has several published decisions.
Prior to joining Lewis Johs, he was an associate with a medical malpractice defense firm on Long Island. Before attending law school, Patrick worked as a researcher with New York Newsday/Newsday's Pulitzer Prize winning investigative news team. The team was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for investigative journalism in 1995.
He was admitted to practice in the State of New York in 1998 and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York in 2002. He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association. His article, "Res Judicata, Revisiting a Ghost of Semesters Past" was recently published in the Suffolk Lawyer.
Patrick Toner received his Juris Doctor Degree from Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, Touro College, in 1997. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from New York Institute of Technology in 1990.
Patrick is an avid gardener and writes about gardening and environmental issues. He resides in West Bay Shore, New York.
