A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Daniel represents clients primarily in construction defect litigation, insurance defense litigation, complex civil litigation, business law, and employment law. Daniel also represents educational institutions in defense of federal discrimination claims based on Titles III, VI, VII, and IX as well as ADA and ADEA claims.
Daniel has successfully defended and resolved state and federal district court matters in each of these areas. Daniel also has appellate advocacy experience in the North Carolina Court of Appeals both as a law clerk and in private practice as an attorney as well as appellate advocacy experience as counsel-of-record in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and recently at the Supreme Court of the United States.
In 2021, Daniel was selected by his peers for inclusion in the inaugural edition of Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” (https://www.bestlawyers.com/Methodology) in Insurance Law. Daniel received this same recognition again in 2022.
Outside of the office, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife, Meredith, and their children, Sara Margaret and Mac. Daniel also loves going to the beach, cooking, playing tennis, coaching his children in youth soccer, and teaching children's Sunday School at Myers Park Presbyterian Church.
