David Hurtado

David A. Hurtado practices workers' compensation law in Morgan & Morgan's Atlanta office. Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Mr. Hurtado started his legal career working at an insurance defense firm representing employers and insurance companies in all aspects of workers' compensation claims, including discovery, hearings, appeals, and settlement mediations. As a result, he has gained invaluable experience to learn what the "other side" is going to do in a workers' compensation claim, which helps him be a zealous advocate for his clients. After working as a defense attorney for several years, Mr. Hurtado became a Claimant's attorney so that he can help injured workers navigate through a complex workers' compensation system while receiving any and all benefits to which they are entitled. As a native Spanish speaker, Mr. Hurtado specializes in assisting the Latinx community with issues that are unique to the community and their experiences.

David was honored as a Super Lawyers ""Rising Star"" in both 2020 and 2021, an honor given to a limited number of attorneys in each state. As one of the few attorneys to garner the distinction of Rising Stars, David Hurtado has earned the respect of peers as one of the top-rated workers' compensation attorneys in the nation.

Mr. Hurtado attended Georgia State University Law School, where he was also an executive board member of Moot Court, and participated in multiple prestigious competitions. While in law school, Mr. Hurtado was awarded as the "Best Oralist" and "Best Overall" competitor in the law school's oral argument competition, and was an assistant professor to second year law students participating in Litigation courses.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Hurtado attended the University of Central Florida, majoring in political science. He currently lives in Marietta with his wife, daughter, and dog. Mr. Hurtado enjoys all sports, particularly cheering on the UCF Knights and Atlanta United.
