Jimmy C. Powell Jr.

Jim was born and raised in Loris, South Carolina and has spent his entire legal career practicing in Horry County. After graduating from Clemson University, he attended the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama where he graduated in 1999. After graduation, Jim began a career that has involved the handling of significant litigation across many practice areas. Jim has spent the most part of his career focusing on complex litigation involving significant personal injury, catastrophic motor vehicle accident and negligence claims involving premises liability. Jim has also devoted his practice to the handling of suits related to wrongful death, product liability injury and insurance litigation. For the most part, Jim has represented corporations, insurance companies and their insureds and now brings his extensive litigation experience to work for those who have suffered from injuries in our community and state.

Most recently, Jim was a shareholder in the statewide litigation firm of Turner Padget Graham and Laney where he served as the managing shareholder of the Myrtle Beach office. Jim lives in Myrtle Beach and is married to Mary Kate Powell and is the proud parent of Jack and Riley Powell.
