Renner Walker is an Associate at Levy Konigsberg LLP and focuses his legal practice on representing workers and consumers, as well as their families, who have been injured by exposure to asbestos, including those who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma and other asbestos-related cancers.Prior to joining Levy Konigsberg, Renner completed a one-year Graduate Research Fellowship in Environmental Law at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, where he also earned an LL.M. in Environmental Law, summa cum laude. He previously practiced administrative and environmental law as an Assistant Attorney General in the Iowa Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General, and completed a two-year judicial clerkship for the Honorable Mark S. Cady, Chief Justice of the Iowa Supreme Court.
Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Renner received his J.D. with highest honors from Drake University Law School in 2012, where he served as Associate Editor of the Drake Law Review and Captain of Drake's Environmental Law Moot Court Team. Renner practiced as a student attorney in the Neal and Bea Smith Legal Clinic and interned for the Iowa Department of Justice, the Iowa Supreme Court, and a Des Moines law firm. He also served as President of the Drake Law Chapter of the American Constitution Society. He is the 2012 recipient of the Justice David and Madonna Harris Award and the 2012 recipient of the Iowa State Bar Association Graduating Senior Award.
Renner received his B.A. in Philosophy, English, and History from the University of Iowa in 2007. He is admitted to practice in Iowa and California. He is also a member of the American Bar Association. Renner lives in Brooklyn with his girlfriend and their three dogs and a cat. He is an avid reader and enjoys running in his free time.
