He has been practicing in family law and personal injury since 1988. Mr. Hughey believed that by starting his own practice, David could fully realize his passion for helping people. In 1993, along with his wife Robin Hughey, he founded the Hughey and Hughey Law Firm. Since then the primary focus of Mr. Hughey’s practice has been family law and personal injury.

Education:
David S. Hughey attended college at Wheaton College in Illinois and earned his J.D. Degree from the University of Houston in 1987.
Activities & Affiliations:Beyond being licensed by the Texas Bar Association to practice law, Mr. Hughey is active in many professional organizations including the Dallas Bar Association, the North Bar Association, and the Collin County Bar Association. He is a dedicated volunteer in various organizations benefiting youth, including service on the boards of Richardson Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), Richardson Neighborhood and Youth Services, and the Allen Sports Association. He has also been a member of the school district booster clubs for both the Allen and Lovejoy independent school districts (ISD's).

- Free Consultation - New potential clients can call our office or visit our website to fill out a contact form to set up an appointment for a free thirty (30) minute consultation with one of our experienced attorneys. Normally our consultations are done either in person or over the phone, but due to coronavirus precautions we are limiting our consultations to those done over the phone or video conference via FaceTime or Zoom.
- Credit Cards Accepted - Our firm accepts all Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover credit and debit cards.
- Contingent Fees - All of our personal injury cases are done on a contingency fee basis meaning that we do not get paid unless you do.
- Rates, Retainers and Additional Information - Our family law, wills, estate planning, and probate cases are all done on either a flat rate fee or are on retainer. The costs vary depending on a number of factors including things like the nature of the case, the risk of litigation, number of parties involved, the amount of time we expect to work on the case, the complexity or nuances of the subject matter, etc. During your free consultation our attorney will provide details on how you will be billed and you will be given an estimated cost based on the facts of your case.
