Robert P. Killian is a shareholder of the firm Killian Law Firm LLC, in Brunswick, Georgia. With almost four decades of experience, he focuses his practice on matters of civil litigation, primarily personal injury and wrongful death. Since he co-founded the firm in 1997, Mr. Killian and his partner have recovered more than $166 million in compensation for clients. He handles cases primarily in Glynn, Camden, Liberty, Brantley, McIntosh and Wayne counties. In addition to his principle area of personal injury and wrongful death, he has successfully represented clients in business litigation cases, condemnation cases, civil rights cases and estate disputes. He has tried well over 200 civil cases to verdict and has handled over forty appeals to the Georgia Court of Appeals and Supreme Court and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Killian obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law, and he was admitted to practice in Georgia in 1976. Currently a Regional Vice President of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, he is also a member of the Brunswick-Glynn County Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the American Bar Association, and the National Trial Lawyer's Top One Hundred in Georgia.
Dedicated to putting his extensive trial experience to work for his clients, Mr. Killian has garnered recognition among his peers. For twenty nine years, he has had Martindale-Hubbell's highest peer-reviewed rating of AV-Preeminent*, and he is a published author as well. One of his articles, “Stop Abusive Litigation in Clear Negligence Cases with a Kiss and Make-up Letter,” appears in the 1990 winter issue of Verdict, the quarterly journal of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He also wrote "Use of Experts to Show How Darkness Affects Driver Vision in Tractor Trailer Wrecks" for the journal's 1997 winter issue. Mr. Killian additionally co-authored "Examination of the Police Officer in an Automobile Collision Case," published in Calendar Call, a publication of the trial section of the State Bar of Georgia. He speaks at Georgia Trial Lawyer seminars.
