John A. Moss is a partner in Steel & Moss, LLP. For over twenty years he has practiced exclusively as a plaintiff's trial lawyer litigating in state and federal courts, primarily on behalf of injured railroad workers under the Federal Employers' Liability Act. He has litigated extensively on behalf of injured workers in all kinds of cases, including death, catastrophic injury, paraplegia, and amputation.
More recently, he has focused part of his time on whistleblower cases under 49 USC 20109 in which he represents rail workers against whom the railroad has retaliated following the report of a personal injury. In addition to a full time trial practice, Mr. Moss has taught for the last seven years as an adjunct professor of advocacy to second year law students at the Georgia State College of Law in Atlanta. The class teaches essential litigation and trial skills to students who are closing in on graduation and the practice of law.
Mr. Moss is a native of Asheville, NC and has lived in Atlanta for most of his life. He graduated from Woodward Academy, Furman University, and the Georgia State College of Law. After completing college on an Army ROTC scholarship, he fulfilled his service obligation as a JAG officer in the Georgia Army National Guard for ten years.
