John Sanders

John Scott Sanders was raised in Poteau, Oklahoma. John has two older brothers and one younger sister. John grew up heavily involved in sports while also staying dedicated to academics, maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout the majority of his schooling career. Prior to law school, John graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2017 and received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science. John was an early graduate at OSU, finishing his degree in three and a half years. While at Oklahoma State, John made appearances on the Dean's Honor Roll and the President's Honor Roll.

John earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2021. During law school, John was a member of the Sports Entertainment Legal Society and the American Constitution Society. John particularly enjoyed studying American Legal History, Federal Indian Law, and Sports Law while at OU College of Law.

After graduating law school, John passed the recently established Uniform Bar Exam. Upon admission to the Oklahoma Bar Association, John became a third-generation attorney. John's grandfather and father, Douglas Warner Sanders Sr. and Douglas Warner Sanders Jr., both practiced law together at the Sanders, Sanders, and Sullivan Law Firm of Poteau, Oklahoma. In his free time, John enjoys playing golf, going to the movies, and attending various sporting events. John has been with Whitten Burrage since the summer of 2019.
