In this case, Ritter appealed a jury trial verdict of $1.5 million to the California Court of Appeals and obtained a unanimous decision expanding the rights of California workers to be free from sexual discrimination under California law. The appellate decision was published and is now recognized as a part of workers' rights prohibiting sexual discrimination in the workplace.
