Jon's practice is devoted to litigation in the State and Federal Courts of Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi. Jon joined Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith in January 2009 and brings broad experience to our Pensacola and Mobile offices.Before joining the firm, Jon maintained an active defense practice and diversified caseload in Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.
Jon represents individual clients, companies, and insurers in construction defect, premises liability, wrongful death, personal injury, employment discrimination, workers compensation, and collection suits and claims. Jon has successfully defended and obtained favorable results for his clients in multimillion dollar construction defect claims as well as wrongful death, premises liability, workers compensation, personal injury, and medical liability suits in both State and Federal Court. He is an active member of the Florida Bar, the Alabama State Bar and the Mississippi Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in Mississippi's Northern and Southern; Alabama's Northern, Middle and Southern; and Florida's Northern United States District Courts as well as the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Jon graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate and Marketing, later earning an M.B.A. from the Samford University School of Business. He obtained his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Jon attended Cumberland with a Presidential Scholarship and served on the American Journal of Trial Advocacy's Editorial Board.
Born in New Orleans, Jon always considered the Florida Panhandle and Gulf Coast region home while living throughout the United States and in various overseas locales. The father of three daughters, Jon fills his personal time with his family, the occasional round of golf, and as many University of Florida football games as his schedule permits.
