Jonathan Comitz

Born and raised in northeastern Pennsylvania, I grew up in the Heights section of Wilkes-Barre, am a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, and received my B.A. from Juniata College in Huntingdon and my J.D. from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg. After finishing law school, it was important to me to return to the Wilkes-Barre area to begin my career as an attorney.

As you can see, family is extremely important to me. My wife Kelly is also from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area and it was important to us that we raise our children, Samuel, Carolyn, and John in close proximity to our extended families. My family has long had its roots in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area, and their stories are likely familiar to many of you. One of my grandfathers was a coal miner, and my other grandfather drove a bakery delivery truck. Hard work and integrity have been instilled in me from an early age, and are cornerstones of my legal practice today. Maintaining close ties to my community has also been central to my practice, and I take great personal pride in the relationships I have built with local residents and organizations. I am honored to provide legal representation to my neighbors in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area, as well as those from outside the area.

I am a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Middle District of Pennsylvania Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association, the Lackawanna Bar Association, and the Federalist Society for Law & Public Policy Studies. I am also an associate member of the Dauphin County Bar Association. I have tried cases in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, and Pennsylvania Courts of Common Pleas.
