Joseph J. Bell IV

Joseph's practice areas focuses on criminal defense, consumer fraud, civil litigation, employment law and municipal and county government and DUI/DWI law. Before entering private practice, Joseph clerked for the Honorable Paul W. Armstrong, J.S.C., in Somerville, N.J.

As an advocate, he has appeared in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels in civil and criminal matters and he has been successful with several appellate arguments and briefs. Most notable among his appellate cases are: (1) Life Time Fitness, Inc. v. Borough of Florham Park, A-4208-11T4, 2013 WL 1748445, at *1 (N.J. Super. Ct. App. Div. Apr. 24, 2013); (2) State v. Pope, A-6083-10T3, 2013 WL 1092138, at *1 (N.J. Super. Ct. App. Div. Mar. 18, 2013); and (3) Suburban Disposal, Inc. v. Borough of Chatham, A-1482-10T4, 2011 WL 519836, at *1 (N.J.).

Joseph's recent work includes the written submissions in connection with the Firm's victory in Suburban Disposal v. Chatham Borough. Joseph has also appeared in Chancery Court and before numerous agencies, as well as being a being a certified mediator. Joe is Assistant Warren County Counsel and does some work as a Rockaway Township Public Defender and Dover Join Municipal Court Public Defender. In his public work, Joseph has drafted legislation, including municipal ordinances and municipal and county resolutions; public contracts and specifications, including all the request for proposals, contract and all accompanying paperwork for the sale of a home health agency.

Joseph is active in politics and has served in various positions in campaigns. In law school, he volunteered at the Center for Social Justice Urban Revitalization Program and in that capacity assisted victims of predatory lending, fraud and other related issues.
