      Biography

Rob gained valuable legal experience during his time at the UNC School of Law and after graduation in 2008. During law school, Rob served as an intern for NC Court of Appeals Judge Wanda G. Bryant and as an extern at the U.S. Attorney's Office, Criminal Division. Rob also worked as a summer associate for several firms including the Everett, Gaskins, Hancock & Stevens firm. Rob was an associate at the firm of Wyrick, Robbins, Yates & Ponton for the year following his graduation.

However, the legal profession is just one of Rob's careers. After graduating Harvard College in 1990, Rob wrote for a magazine in New York and then spent thirteen lucky years teaching and coaching in independent secondary schools in Louisiana and Los Angeles. Additionally, Rob found time, while in law school, to pursue a variety of business interests including owning a restaurant. Rob has left active law practice in order to manage widespread real estate holdings. As CEO of Triple E Apartment Management ("TEAM") Inc. and Manager of Erwin Terrace, LLC, Rob is responsible for operating two multifamily residential assets and a mixed use development in Durham, NC owned by his family. Rob also actively owns or is an investor in multiple residential and commercial developments throughout the Carolinas. In addition to his J.D., Rob maintains an active North Carolina brokers license.

Yet, while Rob's practice of law is on hold, he maintains his passion for the profession. He remains involved in legal organizations including the state Bar Association and the Inn of Court. He also performs legal work for the Charitable Trust founded by his grandmother, which benefits the Law Schools of Duke and UNC. Moreover, as an owner and employer Rob finds his legal background invaluable in drafting and reviewing real estate and related business documents. Conversely, he believes that honing his business skills helps him better understand the needs of legal clients. To that end, Rob assists the firm's partners as they continually refine the firm's practices and core values to provide its clients the most effective, ethical legal representation.
