Harvey Lutins was one of the founding partners of Lutins & Pilgreen, PC. Mr. Lutins, or “Harvey” as he insisted everyone call him, was admitted to practice law in Virignia 1954 and he practiced law continuously until his passing in November of 2015. With his passing, the Roanoke Valley lost one of the great “Lions of the Law”.
Harvey handled every type of case during his career from traffic infractions to death penalty cases. His valiant efforts saved Frank Jimmy Snyder from the electric chair. Time Magazine featured Harvey’s work to save “Ricky”, a German Shepherd that was condemned to death for allegedly killing sheep. Harvey also wrote a memoir titled “My Jealous Mistress” that recounts his journey practicing law and his experiences.
Harvey has left an indelible mark on the Roanoke Valley legal community. Over 30 lawyers had the benefit of working under his guidance during his career.
