Biography
Steven G. Farber is AV Rated in the distinguished Martindale Hubbell Law Directory (lawyer survey) for more than 35 years. He is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and the National Trial Lawyers top 100 attorneys in NM (Civil and and formerly Criminal as well). He was selected for a lifetime achievement award from America's Top 100 Attorneys (NM). In traumatic brain and personal injury, wrongful death, and civil cases Mr. Farber vigorously pursues full compensation for the full amount of the harm suffered. Effective advocacy, thorough preparation, and professional dedication to his clients are hallmarks of Mr. Farber's law practice. Throughout his career, Mr. Farber has held governmental entities, government officials, and police officials accountable for their misconduct. Mr. Farber has been and is determined to seek full compensation for his clients from businesses, insurers, and wrongdoers who cause harm so that his clients are vindicated for the harms they have suffered. Mr. Farber won a major civil rights case before the United States Supreme Court - Wilson v. Garcia - a case having national implications. Mr. Farber and a colleague also freed an innocent man from a life sentence for a murder he did not commit and effectively sought compensation for the deprivation of his liberty and civil rights. A sole practitioner since 1978 with a substantial traumatic brain injury, serious personal injury, wrongful death, white collar crime and professional license defense, and civil rights emphasis. In licensing, white collar crime and criminal cases Mr. Farber carefully protects and defends his clients' rights. Actively involved in civic affairs and bar associations, Mr. Farber was an elected member of the Santa Fe City Council. He later served on the first Santa Fe Home Rule Charter Commission and then the Santa Fe Home Rule Charter Review Commission.
