      Areas of Practice:

      The California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization has certified Ms. Keenan as a Specialist in Family Law. She handles all family law matters, including dissolution of marriage, division of property, valuation and characterization of property, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, prenuptial agreements, modification proceedings, mediation, and domestic violence issues.

      Experience:

      Ms. Keenan joined the law firm of Perry, Johnson, Anderson, Miller & Moskowitz in July 2002. Prior to joining our law firm, Ms. Keenan worked as an associate attorney practicing family law from 1999 to 2002 for the law office of Jeffrey Zimmerman in Petaluma, California.

      Ms. Keenan attended the University of California, Berkeley as an undergraduate obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in 1994. She subsequently attended Empire Law School and received her Juris Doctorate in 1999, graduating cum laude. During her time at Empire Law School she worked as a certified law clerk from 1996 to 1999 for the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office, Family Support Division (now known as the Department of Child Support Services).

      Since Ms. Keenan was admitted to the California State Bar in 1999, her legal career has been focused entirely on divorce, custody, and support issues. Ms. Keenan has extensive experience in family law and her strong negotiating skills are of particular importance when dealing with challenging issues during marital dissolution, custody or support proceedings. She believes in advocating for her clients in a stern but compassionate manner. She understands the importance of being an excellent listener and giving clients the undivided patience and support they need during this extremely challenging time in their lives. In 2012 Martindale Hubbell selected Ms. Keenan for the Client Distinction Award.

      Community Involvement:

      Ms. Keenan is a member of the California State Bar, Family Law Section; Sonoma County Bar Association; and Sonoma County Women in Law (Secretary, 2001 to 2002). Ms. Keenan is a former member of Inns of Court (2002 to 2003). In addition, Ms. Keenan is a part of the Family Law attorney volunteer program, a settlement conference panelist for the Sonoma County Family Law Court, and appears regularly at the Self Represented Domestic Calendar to assist self-represented litigants.

      Education and Membership:

      Ms. Keenan attended the University of California, Berkeley as an undergraduate obtaining her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1994. Ms. Keenan then went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate from Empire Law School and graduated in 1999, cum laude. Ms. Keenan is admitted to practice law in California.
