Matt Nelson has spent most of his life in Morgantown, West Virginia. After graduating from West Virginia University, Matt attended The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he received the Dean's Award for Excellence and was a member of the Appellate Advocacy Advisory Committee. Since then, Matt has developed a state and region wide litigation practice with two of West Virginia's largest law firms, and has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers. Matt joined Farmer, Cline & Campbell in 2012, focusing his practice on labor and employment law, as well as general litigation, personal injury litigation and construction law.
Over the years, Matt has represented both corporations and individuals in complex employment issues and personal injury claims. He has advised clients on the intricacies of both federal and state employment and commercial laws. Matt has also handled several administrative cases before various federal and state agencies and is one of only a few attorneys to have argued before the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission within the past few years.
Matt is heavily involved in the local community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Senior Monongalians, Inc.
