My fiancé was arrested in Texas and extradited to Virginia on a 2018 warrant for a victimless felony charge for which he faced significant jail time. While he was in jail in Texas awaiting extradition, I researched law firms in Virginia. Late in the evening, I sent a message to Big Valley Law Firm through their website and was amazed to receive a reply from Robert Hahn almost immediately. I then received a phone call from him first thing the next morning. Mr. Hahn assured me that the law firm would do all they could to keep court appearances to a minimum, have the charge reduced, avoid jail time, and allow my fiancé to return home to Texas. The team at Big Valley Law scored 100% on everything that Mr. Hahn assured me of: -Court appearances were kept to a minimum with only the initial appearance before a magistrate, the bond hearing, and the preliminary hearing. -The felony charge was reduced to a misdemeanor. -The sentence reduced to a 90 day suspended sentence with time served (24 days served awaiting extradition in Texas and the bond hearing in Virginia. Plus 1 year of unsupervised probation. -My fiancé is back home in Texas (yesterday marked 2 months since this nightmare started). During all of it, I sent numerous emails to Robert Hahn and John Bodenhamer, quite often while anxious and fearful for my fiancé. All of them were answered in a timely manner with compassion and with the answers to my many questions and concerns. Telephone calls weren’t as promptly returned, but in this day and age of emails and messaging, as well as busy court schedules, etc,….who cares. I received prompt replies to every email as well as requests for in-person meetings between my fiancé and his lawyer, John. Least important when compared to my fiancé’s freedom, but of grave concern when money is tight and hard to earn while sitting in jail, the price quoted was fair, and the outcome…priceless.
