Working with Gilman & Edwards was a pleasure. The entire staff was awesome and reassuring. I was frustrated with myself while gathering the necessary documents and the staff walked me through whatever I was frustrated with. I was ready to give and had stopped sending in my documents numerous times and they never gave up on me. They allowed me the time that I needed and never pressured me. They knew that I really needed and wanted to get this fresh start. I know I got on their nerves but it never showed. The process works and you have to be committed to the process.

This law firm was so amazing!! Mr. Gilman and his staff walked me through every step of the process. I have never filed for any type of bankruptcy. So I came in blind as a bat. Hats off to this law firm!

I was told repeatedly during the office consult, and again after by phone, that the *entire* fee for Gilman’s service was $1500. What a relief after being quoted $3000+ elsewhere! He said I could make an initial partial payment and then I could start referring creditors to his office. To be absolutely sure I was clear before making a payment to his office, I spoke again with the attorney himself. Yes, he said, the $1500 included absolutely all of his fee. I made an $800 phone payment to his assistant. What I recd next was a contract for a $4000+ service fee, “$800 of which is non-refundable.” I can’t believe a legit firm would do something so awful to a vulnerable person. To be clear, I did not misunderstand what he said, the $1500 service fee he quoted was to be his entire fee, then I would pay court/filing fees beyond that. Obviously, I cannot continue working with an attorney who would openly misrepresent himself (never mind the fact that his fee is actually substantially more than the $3000 I was quoted elsewhere.) So now I’ve lost a hard-earned $800, and I still have to hire another attorney at $3000+. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.
