Mr. Johnston is a third generation attorney, following his grandfather, Ira T. Johnston, former North Carolina state senator and representative, and father, Thomas S. Johnston, former mayor for the town of Jefferson, former legal counsel to Ashe County, town of Jefferson and Lansing, and for Skyline for many years. The firm is now run by now attorney John Johnston, who is committed to serving the community’s legal needs and welcomes questions from clients who are unfamiliar with or who have been intimidated by the legal process.

Attorney John Johnston has over 30 years of legal experience and is the town of Jefferson’s legal counsel. He is also on the Ashe Memorial Hospital foundation board and ethics committee and attends Jefferson United Methodist Church.

Lawyer John Johnston attained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from North Carolina Central University School of Law, Durham, North Carolina and a Bachelor of Science from Appalachian State University.
