I called Mr. Chalpin’s office which advertised a “Free Consult”. As soon as Mr. Chalpin’s answered he didn’t ask my name. He asked me “are you the landlord or the tenant”. I responded the “tenant, possibly. Can I ask my question it’s just a yes or no that I need”. He replies “If I answer your question then I’m going to be inundated with more questions and I don’t have that kind of time. You can go to my website and maybe find what you’re looking for on the links.” Prior to the call, I browsed his website and it didn’t address my question at all. I informed him of that. He replies “well you need to look deeper, all the information you need are in the links.” Here I am 3 minutes into a call, when all I wanted out of his “free consult” was a yes or no. I would’ve said thank you and that was it. My unasked QUESTION: [Do storage units (extra space, self storage) fall under landlord tenant law?] He is short, curt man with unnecessary bias towards “tenants”. I would not recommend.
