If a Florida worker misses seven consecutive days of work due to a work-related injury, that worker is entitled to up to 80 percent of his or her lost wages.
If a Florida worker is disabled and that worker is away from work for longer than 21 days, that worker is entitled to benefits for the first seven days as well.
Employers are not always forthcoming about the compensation they must provide employees who are injured on the job. In some cases, the employer may be ignorant of the law. In other cases, the employer may simply be trying to save money by avoiding the issue of payment. Cutting corners in workers' compensation payments is just one way workers are disenfranchised every day.
At Rooth Law Firm, P.A., in Clearwater, Florida, we know Florida's workers' compensation laws inside and out. If you come to us with questions about a workers' comp claim, our board certified lawyer can ensure that your employer and your employer's insurance company are playing by the rules. We can help you get the medical care you need, as well as compensation for lost wages and temporary disability caused by your on-the-job injury.
The Importance Of Being 'Board Certified' In Workers' CompUnlike most Florida lawyers, Joseph Rooth is board certified in workers' compensation law by the Florida Bar Association. He has a comprehensive understanding of Florida workers' compensation law and the skills - in the courtroom and at the negotiating table - you need to obtain all of the compensation that is due to you. He has successfully represented workers' compensation clients in Florida since 1994.
Mr. Rooth's effectiveness extends to workers whose injuries are long-lasting. For clients with long-term disabilities that prevent them from working for more than a year, he can pursue Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits through the federal government. Navigating the SSD system is challenging, but Mr. Rooth has succeeded in helping clients navigate it. Whether you are applying for SSD for the first time, or your prior claim has been rejected, he can do what is necessary to get a fair review of your circumstances and the benefits you need.
