He did a poor job at representing me. It was my first time going to family court, we sat multiple times prior to appearing in court and my position nor what I should advocate for was ever made clear to me. He simply ran my finances and prepared me for the worst case scenario. After dropping him after my first court appearance I was made aware that he proposed very little child custody on my behalf. Basically a scheme that most lawyers do to stretch your case out in court for multiple years. In essence, he took a very weak position on my behalf knowingly of my financial status and being the sole income in the household at the time. Heed the advice of any personal friend or family member who has experience in family court, draw out a position/plan for yourself and find a recommended lawyer who’s on board with your plan. Be your own advocate and do not let lawyers drag out your case in court.
