Alan P. Gustafson, Jr. is an associate in the Tampa Bay office of Taylor & Carls, P.A. Alan was born and raised in the Columbus, Ohio area. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude with departmental honors, from Wittenberg University in 2004. While in college, Alan was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a National Academic Honor Society, Chi Alpha Sigma, a National College Athletic Honor Society, and Delta Tau Delta. He was also active in the interfraternity counsel, and was a member of Wittenberg University's track and cross country teams.
Alan received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law in 2007. In law school, he was a member of Phi Delta Phi Honors Fraternity and received a book award in Federal Income Tax.
After graduating from law school, Alan served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Tenth Judicial Circuit where he argued motions, conducted depositions and participated in jury and non-jury trials in both misdemeanor and felony-level criminal cases. Prior to joining the Tampa Bay area office of Taylor & Carls, P.A., Alan practiced law in the construction law, government contracts, and environmental law fields for a firm located in Fort Lauderdale.
Alan is a member of both the Florida and Ohio bars, and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is active in the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Alan concentrates his practice in the areas of community association law, providing a variety of legal services to condominium, homeowner, cooperative and timeshare associations, with particular emphasis on construction law and litigation.
