Alisha joined the legal team at Monzon, Guerra, & Chipman Attorneys at Law in the fall of 2021. Her work currently focuses on matters of immigration, including but not limited to immigrant visas, status adjustments, waivers of inadmissibility, and naturalization. In her daily practice, Alisha helps client navigate immmigrant and non-immigrant visa applications, including navigating the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, the National Visa Center, and US Embassies and Consulates.
Alisha is passionate about facilitating justice for youth who find themselves in contact with the justice system, particularly through alternative, non-traditional interventions. Alisha's background as a researcher and evaluator gives her the unique ability to utilize emperical evidence to inform best practices when navigating the juvenile justice system. Prior to joining the team at Monzon, Guerra, and Chipman, Alisha served as the Restorative Justice Program Analyst for the Nebraska Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation's Office of Dispute Resolution (ODR). During her tenure at ODR, Alisha develop legislation and policies governing ethical practices and training requirements for statewide, ODR-approved mediation centers. Alisha is a trained mediator and restorative justice facilitator with a background in juvenile justice.
