Andre C. Wharton, was born March 30, 1977, in Memphis, Tennessee. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Hampton University, where he graduated with distinction.
After graduating from Hampton in 1999, Mr. Wharton journeyed to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to attend the University of North Carolina School of Law. He was a semifinalist in the intra-school trial competition during his first year. While at Carolina, Mr. Wharton also was active on the Holderness Moot Court Environmental Negotiation Team, receiving the honor of "Best Negotiator," and was a finalist in the 2002 National Competition in Richmond, Virginia.
Mr. Wharton also participated in the Carolina Criminal Law Clinic, where he tried several cases in Durham County District Court. He served two terms as the vice-president of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) at Carolina and actively coordinated numerous law school and community awareness seminars during his governance.
After a summer experience with the firm in 2000 and receiving his bar license in August 2002, Mr. Wharton rejoins the firm with his practice consisting of medical malpractice and nursing home litigation. Mr. Wharton is married to Mrs. Monica N. Wharton, who is also a practicing attorney in Raleigh.
