Born to two hard working parents, Antonio Stanfield, Jr. was raised in Atlanta, GA, along with his younger brother, Mario, to honor God, work hard, and to be successful. It is this foundation that has carried him throughout his life and legal career as an associate attorney at Overman & Overman, LLC. While growing up in Atlanta, GA, Antonio always knew that he would be successful, but it wasn't until after he graduated from Fisk University, with a major in Spanish, that he finally knew that he wanted to become an attorney.
With the drive that was instilled in him from an early age, Antonio set upon the application process of applying to law school, and made the decision to attend the University of Missouri School of Law, where he was the recipient of the Michael T. Bramble Scholarship Award. While at the University of Missouri, affectionately called "Mizzou" by its students and alumni, Antonio found his love for legal research and writing, written and oral advocacy, and litigation. Having already been buttressed by an internship with the State Office of Prosecution Services during his first year of law school, Antonio also interned with the United States Attorney's Office during his second year of law school. His internship with the United States Attorney's Office further confirmed for Antonio that he knew he wanted to be a litigator and spend much of his time in the courtroom.
During his law school studies, Antonio was also a member of the University of Missouri Mock Trial Team, where he was able to compete in various regional competitions, which further seasoned his litigation skills from both the plaintiff's, and the defense's point of view. During Antonio's third year of law school, he worked for a securities and compliance law firm, which gave him the added experience of working in a transactional law firm environment. Upon graduating from the University of Missouri School of Law, Antonio graduated Order of Barristers; a graduate honor that is bestowed upon ten members of each graduating class that exemplify outstanding written and oral advocacy skills throughout their law school careers.
