Brandon S. Stockstill is a native of New Iberia, Louisiana and presently lives in Prairieville with his wife and two children. After graduating from New Iberia Senior High, Brandon attended LSU. In 1995, he graduated from LSU with a B.S. in Political Science and a minor in History.
Brandon attended law school at Southern University Law Center and graduated in 1999. Brandon is currently admitted to all Louisiana State Courts, the Eastern, and Western Districts of the United States District Courts, and the 5th Circuit Court of Appeal of the United States Courts of Appeal.
Prior to joining the firm of Boyer, Hebert, Abels and Angelle, Brandon practiced both as a defense attorney and plaintiff attorney in personal injury cases. He gained valuable knowledge in handling defense of automobile accidents as well as being one of only a handful of attorneys qualified in the country to handle flood claims involving the National Flood Insurance Program. This experience in the realm of flood defense gave Brandon a unique experience in that the practice included practice on a national level in the Federal Court system. In addition to his extensive defense practice related to civil litigation, Brandon also has practiced as a plaintiff attorney by representing clients involved in personal injury claims such as wrongful death claims, automobile accidents, toxic torts cases including representing clients with cancer due to exposure to asbestos, including representing clients diagnosed with mesothelioma.
In addition to handling both civil defense and plaintiff claims, Brandon also has practiced as a criminal defense attorney over the past 12 years. Brandon has experience dealing with both misdemeanors and felonies in both State and Federal courts. Brandon is also a member of the CJA panel for the Western District for the United States District Court, where he defends criminal clients.
In his spare time you will most likely find Brandon enjoying his camp in the Atchafalaya Basin duck hunting, fishing and camping with his friends and family.
