Brian G. Paul

Brian G. Paul, a partner with the firm, practices exclusively in the matrimonial area of the law, and has effectively represented clients before the New Jersey Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Superior Courts of New Jersey and the Federal Court system. Brian is one of the few attorneys in New Jersey who has earned the title Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney, meaning that our State’s highest court has recognized him as an expert on divorce and family law matters.

For his outstanding work in the area of family law, Brian has been listed in Woodward/White’s publication of “Best Lawyers in America” from 2013 to 2015, and designated its “2015 Lawyer of the Year” Family Law for the Princeton-Metro area. Brian was the only family law attorney in the Central New Jersey region, and one of just five family law attorneys in the entire State, to receive the “2015 Lawyer of the Year” distinction. In addition, from 2007 to present, through a rigorous selection process based upon peer voting and credentials research aimed at identifying the top 5% of all attorneys in the State of New Jersey, a blue ribbon panel named Brian a “Super Lawyer™”. In 2009, the blue ribbon panel compiling the Super Lawyers™ list identified Brian as one of the Top 100 Super Lawyers™ in New Jersey. Brian was the only Mercer County Family Law Attorney in the Top 100, and one of only two attorneys in the County to be included in the Top 100. In 2006, Brian was included on the New Jersey Law Journal’s “40 under 40″ list. Brian also holds Martindale-Hubbell’s™ highest rating of “AV Preeminent” in both of his practice areas – Family Law and Appellate Practice.

Brian has substantial experience litigating all types of family law cases, including complex divorce actions, custody and parenting time trials, domestic violence hearings, and termination of parental rights cases. In addition, a significant portion of Brian’s practice is dedicated to handling all types of divorce/family law appeals before New Jersey’s Appellate courts. Brian receives many referrals for family law appellate work from other attorneys, which demonstrates their trust in his ability to handle the most difficult and complex legal issues.

A member of the New Jersey bar since 1995, Brian received his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware, where he was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award for his superior skills in Legal Research and Writing. Brian earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Brian serves as a panelist in both the Mercer County and Burlington County Matrimonial Early Settlement Programs, a privilege reserved for the most experienced matrimonial attorneys in those counties.
