Ed Massey is a Northern Kentucky native, and lives in Boone County with his wife Anita and three daughters. Ed is a graduate of Lloyd Memorial High School in Erlanger, Kentucky (1985); graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, cum laude -- Bachelor of Science in police administration with a minor in business (1989); graduate of Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Juris Doctorate (1992). He has been practicing law in the Tri-State area for over twenty-one (21) years.
Ed is admitted to practice in all courts of Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. He is also licensed in the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals; 7th Circuit Court of Appeals; 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Memberships include the Kentucky Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association, Northern Kentucky Bar Association, Kentucky Justice Association, Leadership Kentucky Alumni Association (2004) and the Chase Inn of Court. Ed is a partner in the firm of Blankenship Massey & Associates, with two thriving offices in Erlanger, Kentucky, and Dry Ridge, Kentucky.
Ed practices in many areas of law including bankruptcy, Social Security, education, military, workers' compensation, criminal, domestic and personal injury. Recently he has been involved in several courts-martial proceedings involving members of the United States military. In one case, an 18-year verdict was overturned by the Naval Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals.
In addition to his legal practice, Ed has been involved in education since 1989, when he began substitute teaching in Covington Public Schools and Boone County Schools. In 1996, Ed was elected to the Boone County Board of Education where he continues his service today. In addition, Ed is a Past President of the Kentucky School Boards and the National School Boards Association as well as a Director on the Board of the National PTA. Currently, Ed serves as a Director on the Board of the New York Says Thank You Foundation.
In his spare time, Ed serves as a deacon in the Hebron Baptist Church and is an avid NASCAR fan. He follows his driver, Tony Stewart (#14), each week.
