Carol Poles is a partner and senior trial attorney in the firm. She is an experienced, dedicated, and determined advocate and trial attorney. Her practice predominantly focuses on medical malpractice defense. Over the course of her career, she has vigorously and successfully represented physicians in a wide variety of specialties, physicians assistants, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, nurses, skilled nursing facilities, healthcare institutions, and medical practices. She has tried countless actions to favorable verdicts for her clients, including many complex lawsuits seeking multi-million dollar damages. She counsels clients on effective strategies in order to achieve beneficial results.
Ms. Poles also represents professional clients in matters before the OPD and OPMC.
As a former prosecutor with the Office of the District Attorney in Kings County (Brooklyn) for several years, Ms. Poles litigated and tried numerous homicides, violent felonies, narcotics transactions, and special victim offenses, achieving an exceptional conviction rate. She further served as appellate counsel for the Kings County District Attorney and argued several appeals before the Appellate Division, Second Department with favorable outcomes.
She previously served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York where she represented various state agencies/employees in actions alleging personal injuries, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and litigated mental hygiene commitments and medication administrations in necessary circumstances.
From 2018-2022, Ms. Poles has been honored with the Lawyers of Distinction Award in Medical Malpractice Defense. She is a member of the NYS Academy of Trial Lawyers.
