Charles Cornell Brown

Charles Brown is a veteran trial lawyer with an exceptional track record of success. A former deputy federal defender, he has tried nearly 60 federal cases and has resolved thousands of wide-ranging federal criminal issues. These include cases presenting a wide array of complex federal criminal issues such as white collar tax and fraud offenses, international commerce clause offenses, complex multi-defendant cases, computer/internet offenses, death penalty litigation, and immigration offenses. His hard-earned victories have produced deep insights into the complexities of a federal criminal case. He has superior wisdom and knowledge that only comes with experience. He is a graduate of the Law Center at the University of Southern California and the Trial Lawyer’s College in Wyoming.

Mr. Brown has also provided national training on trial advocacy skills. He presented at the Developing Our Client’s Narrative for Sentencing and Mitigation Workshop in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was an instructor/facilitator at the Sentencing Advocacy Workshop in Los Angeles, California. In the past, he lectured at the Office of the Federal Public Defender New Lawyer Training Program on the fundamentals of the Attorney-Client Relationships and Developing Our Client’s Story at all stages of the federal criminal case.

Charles Brown also served as an instructor/facilitator at the Trial Skills Workshop in Austin, Texas, which focused on working with trial lawyers to help improve their examination skills of expert witnesses. This included developing strategies for pretrial motions, direct examinations and cross examinations. He also lectured at the Office of the Federal Public Defender’s New Lawyer Training Program on the fundamentals of Opening Statements and Closing Arguments.

Mr. Brown was co-counsel in a federal death penalty case and presented before the Attorney General’s Capital Case Committee in Washington D.C.
