Clara joined the Roupas Law Firm in September 2016 as a Law Clerk while working on her admission to the North Carolina Bar. As of June 2017, Clara is licensed in North Carolina and is now an Associate Attorney. She assists Mr. Roupas on all manner of cases, from divorce, separation, child support and custody to small business matters, estate work, and personal injury.
Prior to joining the Roupas Law Firm, PLLC, Clara worked as an Associate Attorney focusing on immigration law in New York, NY. She represented both detained and non-detained clients in all phases of removal proceedings in numerous venues throughout the Unites States. Clara also represented clients seeking adjudication of family and employment-based visa petitions, adjustment of status, and naturalization before USCIS. She also successfully handled appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the AAO.
Clara earned a J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2009, where she served as Senior Production Editor for the Federal Communications Law Journal. Prior to law school, she graduated magna cum laude in with a B.A. in Classics and English from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
