Prior to joining the firm, Austin served as Staff Attorney to the Honorable J. Stephen Schuster of the Superior Court of Cobb County. This position offered him extensive experience in civil litigation, criminal law and domestic relations law. He worked on cases ranging from constitutional challenges in death penalty cases, to complex business and intellectual property disputes, to class action litigation and medical malpractice cases.Austin graduated cum laude from Oglethorpe University with a Bachelor of Arts in politics and a minor in sociology and history. During college, Austin was elected Senior Class President, received several scholarships and was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa. During his years in law school at the University of Georgia, Austin gained hands-on experience in construction law and criminal appellate practice while working for firms in the Atlanta and Washington, D.C. metro areas. Austin values community service and has volunteered in several capacities for the Marietta City Schools, including serving as an attorney coach for Marietta High School's 2006-2007 Mock Trial team. He serves as the editor of the Cobb Bar Association Newsletter and was the recipient of the Association's 2006-2007 President's Award. In his spare time, Austin also enjoys playing guitar, running and manning third base for his softball team.
