David B. Rheingold specializes in an active litigation in federal and state courts. Since joining our firm in 1995, he has concentrated on the mass tort cases, particularly medical device, prescription drugs and over-the-counter products. He holds positions in various litigation steering committee groups. Most recently In Benicar [Olmesartan] Products Liability Litigation, MDL Docket No. 15-2606. He is also an active speaker to lawyers and law students.
He is the managing partner for the firm’s cases participating in the following settlement plans: $2.5 billion DePuy ASR metal-on-metal hip implant, $1.4 billion Stryker Rejuvenate metal-on-metal hip implant, $100 million NuvaRing settlement, $56 million Biomet M2a Magnum hip implants, $27.7 million Fosamax osteonecrosis of the jaw cases.
David takes an individual approach to each client’s claim. Maximum recovery for a client may be by litigation (and best jurisdiction), settlement plan, mediation or one-on-one negotiations with a defendant. David and his firm promote clients to be bellwether choices (lead representative plaintiffs). For settlement plan strategies, he uses his medical expertise in preparing the firm's "Extraordinary Injury" and "Enhanced Injury" claims in medical device and drug litigations.
He represents clients from around the country in the following recent and pending medical device litigations:
