David Whitmore joined the Blake Jones Law Firm, in 1988, after serving two years as legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana. Since joining the firm, David has concentrated his practice in maritime personal injury litigation, particularly litigation under the Jones Act. He has represented clients in all parts of Louisiana, as well as in courts in Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, New York, New Jersey, California and Alaska.
In addition to representing seamen under the Jones Act, David has also represented persons injured on offshore platforms as well as injured parties in workers' compensation matters mostly before the United States Department of Labor under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act.
In addition to his maritime personal injury work, David has also represented numerous clients who have been involved in automobile accidents, accidents with 18 wheelers and other commercial vehicles, slip and falls, and who have claims for premises liability and products liability, as well as civil rights violations.
