      Biography

Dustin was raised in a home with four sisters and one brother. His father worked as a teacher and his mother as a dental hygienist. Dustin learned the value of hard work from a young age. He spent his summers working on a farm and started delivering newspapers at the age of nine. Growing up, Dustin was actively involved in sports, church youth programs, and Boy Scouts. Dustin attained the rank of Eagle Scout by the age of 14.

Following high school, Dustin spent two years living in Puebla, Mexico, where he learned Spanish fluently and became enchanted with the rich history and culture of Latin America. Dustin carried his passion for Latin America with him to college at Brigham Young University, where he studied comparative literature with an emphasis on Latin American literature. During his undergraduate studies Dustin travelled to Lake Atitlan, Guatemala where he lived with an indigenous family, learned to speak K'iche', and wrote his honors thesis on Mayan literature. While in college, Dustin also met the love of his life, Sabrina Packard. Dustin and Sabrina have been married for more than twelve years and have 4 beautiful children.

After graduating with honors, Dustin was accepted into the 2009 corps of Teach for America. With Teach for America, Dustin spent two years focused on the issue of educational inequality in Houston, Texas. During this time he taught middle school English and ESL classes. In both of his years as a teacher, Dustin helped each of his seventh- and eighth-grade classes achieve significant academic gains. To this day, this remains one of the proudest accomplishments of his life.

Dustin started law school at the College of William and Mary in 2011. He excelled in law school, earning a spot on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team and finishing his first year in the top 10% of his law school class. Thanks to his academic performance at William and Mary, Dustin was able to transfer to the University of Texas School of Law where he completed his Juris Doctorate degree in 2014.

During law school Dustin worked at the Packard Law Firm assisting clients in the Social Security Disability Department and preparing cases for Social Security hearings. Now, as a practicing attorney and Partner, Dustin represents clients in Social Security hearings. Dustin also helps manage the Social Security Department alongside Amber Seekamp.

Dustin loves fighting for his clients and being an advocate on their behalf. He loves helping people cut through the complex Social Security System to be able to obtain the benefits they've paid for and rightfully deserve.
