Dick Hottenroth was born in Galion, Ohio, in 1936. He is a graduate of Galion High School, Capital University (A.B. Degree) and the Ohio State University College of Law (J.D. Degree).
Dick's practice includes wills and estates, estate planning, real estate and other areas.
At both Galion High School and Capital University, Dick participated in a number of student government and sporting activities. He attained all-league honors in high school baseball, was captain of the baseball team, and was a recognized lineman on the football team; at Capital University, he participated in intercollegiate baseball for four years and football for one year. In high school, Dick was president of the student government, president of his sophomore and junior classes, a class officer for four years, a member of the National Honor Society, and a representative of Boys State.
At Capital University, he was president of his class for three years, was student body vice-president and was student body government representative for four years.
Dick is actively involved in legal practice in many areas including wills and estates, business and corporate law, and real estate.
Dick has been involved as a trustee or director of a number of community activities including United Appeal, Galion YMCA-Community Center, Galion Community Hospital, Galion Community Improvement Corporation, Galion Public Library and Peace Lutheran Church.
Dick and his wife Carol have three children, David, Gail, and Marc, all of whom are graduates of the University of Cincinnati. In addition to his professional, community and family pursuits, Dick enjoys fishing and woodworking.
