Ed Abel is a Senior Partner at Abel Law Firm where his focus of law includes personal injury, products liability and medical negligence. Ed received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1966. While earning his J.D. he was a member of the Law Review; member of the Order of the Coif; President of his class; Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity; on the Dean's Honor Roll; and Scholastically ranked 8th of 146 in his graduating class. Ed Abel also received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1963. Ed Abel has a long list of professional achievements, which includes founding the Abel Law Firm in 1976. His other achievements include being rated "AV" by Martindale peer review system, which is the highest rating within the peer review system. He was selected as a "Super Lawyer" by Super Lawyers since 2007. Ed was named Oklahoma City Personal Injury Litigator of the Year for the year 2011 by Best Lawyers. He was the recipient of the Earl Sneed Award in 1985 for Outstanding Continuing Legal Education Contribution and the recipient of the Leo Whinery Award in 2000 for Outstanding Contribution to Oklahoma Law of Evidence. Ed is a member of the Oklahoma County Bar Association, American Board of Trial Advocates, Texas Trial Lawyer Association, American Association for Justice, American College of Trial Lawyers, American Association for Justice, Oklahoma Association for Justice, an Honorary Member of the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association; and the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association. While Ed has many more professional highlights, these are just a few. Ed was admitted to practice in: all Oklahoma trial and appellate courts, U.S. District Courts for the Western, Eastern and Northern Districts of Oklahoma, U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. Supreme Court. He was listed in "Best Lawyers in America" as on of the "Top Guns" of the legal profession from 1987-present. In 1989, Ed obtained $10 million for a jury verdict in a personal injury case. This jury verdict was the largest in Oklahoma at that time. Ed is a frequent lecturer for the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Oklahoma Association for Justice. He frequently teaches at the Oklahoma University School of Law and is on the Board of Trustees at Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
