      Biography

      Erin Beckner is an Associate in the firm's Litigation Department where she concentrates her practice in complex litigation. She represents a wide range of clients including technology, energy and telecommunications companies, banking and financial institutions, real estate and construction businesses, healthcare and educational facilities, as well as manufacturing and retail clients.

      She is a member of the firm's Litigation, Technology, and Real Estate Groups and has handled a number of litigation matters in state and federal court involving complex commercial issues including contract and license agreement disputes; large-scale e-discovery matters; property damage including high value commercial losses; real estate litigation; and multijurisdictional matters including class action defense.

      She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2004. At Pitt, she was an Executive Editor of the Journal of Law & Commerce. While in law school, Erin clerked for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia, U.S. Department of Labor, and Pennsylvania Governor's Office of General Counsel. Prior to attending law school, she worked in the Washington, D.C. office of a large New York-based law firm and lobby group.

      Erin graduated with Honors from Allegheny College cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Political Science. At Allegheny, she was an Alden Scholar, Presidential Scholar, and received the Nancy Lee Sutton Fellowship at Grey Advertising in New York, NY.

      Erin serves on the board of the Urban Land Institute's Young Leader's Group and designed and moderated the ULI program “Legal Issues in Real Estate.” She is also a member of Young Real Estate Pittsburgh (YREP). Recently she co-presented a seminar to the Association of Corporate Counsel titled “Managing Outside Counsel.”

      She has done pro bono work at Pittsburgh's McKees Rocks Legal Clinic and has also represented victims of domestic violence and their families in protection from abuse hearings through Neighborhood Legal Services. She also served as a CLAAY (Career Literacy for African American Youth) mentor at Pittsburgh’s Perry Traditional Academy.

      She is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and Western District of Pennsylvania. Erin is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, and Allegheny County Bar Associations, and served on the Women in the Law Division Diversity Committee.
