Frisco, Texas attorney Erin R. Clegg joined McCathern in 2017 as part of the Family Law division. Erin has extensive litigation experience in family law by working on cases involving divorce, custody, child support, modifications, enforcements, domestic violence, and cases involving Child Protective Services. She is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, an achievement held by less than 1% of all lawyers in the State of Texas, and is a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists. Erin also has experience as a mediator for family law cases, helping parties reach creative and unique results that might not otherwise be available through the Court system.
Erin earned her law degree along with a Masters of Public Administration from St. Mary's University in 2013. While in law school, she was the recipient of the Civil Clinic Pro Bono award. She was also a member of Pi Alpha Alpha, the global honor society for public affairs and administration. In 2009, Erin graduated cum laude from the University of North Texas where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice. During her time at UNT, she was a member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, the UNT Mediation Team, as well as Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Erin is a member of various organizations including the Texas Young Lawyers Association, serving on the Board of Directors as a Director of District 11, and the Denton County Bar Association, serving as the President-elect for the Family Law section. She served as a member of the Texas Family Law Foundation on the Bill Review Committee and as a Lifetime Member. Additionally, she is a member of the State Bar College, the Denton County Young Lawyers Association, and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association.
Erin has been a part of several civic engagements including the City of Denton Charter Review Committee, the City of Denton Public Art Committee, as well as volunteering for the Denton County Alternative Dispute Resolution Program (DCAP) as a mediator, Denton County Friends and Family, and as a volunteer attorney for a variety of events through the Denton County Bar Association. She has been published as a reoccurring voice in the Texas Young Lawyers Association Lawyer's Who Lunch Blog and as an editor for the E-News division.
