Emil Ward literally wrote the books on landlord and tenant law, used in both commercial and residential practices. Mr. Ward's first publication, "Massachusetts Landlord-Tenant Practice: Law and Forms" is a 640-page manual, which is easy to read and well annotated. It's full of useful information for both lawyers and property managers. His second book, which covers security deposits and last month's rent, is entitled: "Massachusetts Landlord-Tenant Practice: Law and Forms, Security Deposits and Last Month's Rent."
For 44 years, Mr. Ward has practiced in the areas of landlord-tenant and most aspects of real estate law, both commercial and residential. His firm has represented large management companies with thousands of apartments and small housing providers with only a three-family property.
Recently, Mr. Ward finished an assignment where he was hired for his extensive expertise as out-of-house Lead Litigation Counsel to a major law firm in a landlord-tenant case where the tenants' demand exceeded one million dollars.
The firm consists of Mr. Ward and two attorneys workng hand-in-hand wth Mr. Ward on a variety of matters including appellate work, defending against class actions, bringing partitions, and commercial litigation
